Made-to-measure home decor: vases, hooks and trays

In short

objekto (objekto.io) designs made-to-measure home decor from a description and your dimensions: a vase, a planter, a wall hook, a catch-all tray, bookends or a wall piece. Partner industrial 3D-printing workshops make them and deliver them in France in 1 to 3 weeks (estimate). Design: 950 credits for one part; the firm print price is shown before you order.

  • To the exact dimensions of your alcove, shelf or wall; for a vase, the AI suggests 10 to 30 cm tall.
  • Finishes: satin-smooth PA12, clear resin, full colour for patterns, ribbed PETG.
  • Vases: watertightness isn't guaranteed; for fresh flowers, a glass tube sold ready to use slides inside, the only bought part.
  • Design: 950 credits for one part, 1,900 credits for an object of 2–4 parts. The 2,000 credits free at signup cover the design of a first object.
  • Never a flame: LED candles only in a printed lantern. Delivery: France only at launch.

What home decor can you have made to measure?

  • Vases and bud vases

A shape you can't find in shops, at the height you want; a glass tube holds the water.

  • Planters and pot covers

For an indoor or balcony plant, sized exactly to your pot.

  • Hooks and pegs

For a narrow hallway, a bedroom wall, a bathroom door.

  • Trays and catch-alls

Compartments shaped to what you put down, an engraved pattern.

  • Bookends

A sculpted L shape, held by the weight of the books resting on its base.

  • Wall pieces

A relief sized to your wall, in pieces that fit together.

  • Lanterns for LED candles

A cut-out pattern that throws shadows, never a flame.

  • Garden decor

Plaques, labels, planters: PA12 copes with the outdoors.

How much does 3D printed home decor cost?

A one-part decor object costs 950 credits to design, then the print is paid in US dollars, at the firm price shown before you order: a delivered order always includes a manufacturing minimum, delivery and the service (today, a delivered order starts at $23.90); for a vase 15 cm tall, expect ≈ $28–46 in PETG (estimate).

Design

In credits, once per generation; chat messages and edits are charged separately, while sliders, quotes and renders cost no credits.

What brings the price down

  • hollow it (2–3 mm shell + ribs, two Ø 3.5 mm powder escape holes)
  • thin the non-structural walls
  • switch to printed PETG (redo the safety calculation)

Height and wall thickness make up most of the price: a hollow vase with thin walls costs less than a solid one. The printed PETG version, with visible layers, is the most economical.

How do you get decor made to the dimensions of your home?

  1. Measure the spotWidth of the alcove, height under the shelf, spacing of the holes in the wall, diameter of the pot: note the dimensions that matter, to the millimetre.
  2. Describe the shape and styleFacets, waves, ribs, organic or geometric forms. Add a photo of your room or of an object that inspires you.
  3. Give the size and your budgetA vase's height, a hook's width: it sets most of the price. Pick a budget range, or let the AI decide.
  4. Adjust in the 3D previewThe sliders change height, diameter or width for free; ask in the chat for another pattern or an extra peg.
  5. Choose the finish and orderSmoothed PA12, clear resin, full colour or “Economy” PETG: the firm price, VAT and delivery included, is shown before you pay.

What the AI will ask you

  • Give the object's height or width: it sets the price.
  • Give the fixed dimensions: alcove, shelf, hole spacing, pot diameter.
  • Pick a delivered print budget range, or “No limit”.
  • Say where the object will go: living room, damp bathroom, sunny balcony.
  • Say the finish and colour: matt, satin, translucent, in colour.

Can you 3D print a vase for fresh flowers?

Yes, with a glass tube: a printed vase's watertightness isn't guaranteed, even in vapour-smoothed PA12. The safest option is to design the vase around a glass tube or small jar sold ready to use, which holds the water: it's the bought exception, because glass can't be printed, listed with an Amazon link. The printed vase stays dry.

  • Give the glass tube's diameter and height: the AI plans its recess with a little clearance.
  • For dried flowers or branches, no glass tube is needed: everything is printed.
  • Clear resin yellows in sunlight: keep a resin vase away from a south-facing window.

Can you put 3D printed decor outdoors?

Yes, in PA12 or TPE, which cope well outdoors; bright shades can fade in the sun. Resins stay indoors: they yellow and soften in the heat. For a balcony planter, a garden plaque or plant labels, choose black or white PA12.

Lamps, lampshades and pendants have their own page: custom lighting.

Which material should you choose for home decor?

  • PA12 (SLS): the basis of a decor object, strong and light, in white, black or dyed. With a vapour-smoothed finish it feels satin-smooth and is easier to clean.
  • Clear resin (SLA): a frosted-glass look that lets light through, for a bud vase or an LED lantern. Keep it out of the sun: it yellows under UV.
  • Full-colour PA12: patterns, gradients and textures printed into the material, no painting; the shades are slightly muted.
  • Printed PETG (FDM): the “Economy” option, in several colours; the visible layers give a ribbed effect that suits twisted shapes.

What won't objekto do for home decor?

  • No guaranteed watertightness: for water, plan a ready-to-use glass tube.
  • Never a flame: no lit candle in or near a printed object, LED candles only.
  • No guaranteed sun resistance: resin and colours age under UV.
  • No food contact: a printed tray or bowl stays decorative.
  • No copies of a designer's or a brand's object: protected designs are refused.
  • Each part must fit the material's maximum size: a large wall piece is split into pieces that fit together.

Start from a 3D file

Got a model of a vase or a wall hook (STL, 3MF, OBJ or STEP), your own or an openly licensed one? Import it: the AI adapts it to your dimensions, adds a recess for an insert or fixing holes, then has it printed. Respect the original model's licence.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have decor 3D printed to the exact size of my wall?

Yes: give the dimensions to the millimetre (available width, height under the shelf, hole spacing) and the AI designs the object to those dimensions. A part too large for the machines is split into pieces that fit together, with an assembly guide. The free sliders then adjust width, height or depth without a new generation.

How much does a 3D printed vase cost?

Designing a one-part vase costs 950 credits, then the print is paid in US dollars, delivery included. A delivered order always includes a manufacturing minimum, delivery and the service; at 15 cm tall, expect ≈ $28–46 in PETG (estimate). Beyond that, height, wall thickness and material set the price, shown before you order.

Can I hang a 3D printed wall hook without drilling?

Yes for a light object: ask for a hook that hangs over a door or clips onto an existing rail or curtain pole, and the AI draws the printed hook to their thickness. For heavy coats, a wall fixing remains safer: the AI plans countersunk holes for your wall screws. No load rating is certified.

Can I choose the colour of 3D printed decor?

Yes, part by part: say “make the hooks black” in the chat, click a part or use the Materials tab. PLA and PETG come in many colours, PA12 in several dyed shades, resin in translucent, and full-colour nylon is for multicolour objects: the Materials tab shows the colours available for each part. A shade can vary slightly from one production run to another: for matching objects, order them together.

Can I sell decor designed with objekto in small batches?

Yes, if it's your creation and you hold the rights to what you supplied. An online order goes up to 100 copies and $2,278 incl. VAT; above that, it's a custom quote. Protection of a design created with AI isn't guaranteed. Details are on the product manufacturing page.

Can I put a candle in a 3D printed lantern?

An LED candle, yes; a lit candle, no. No printed material is made to withstand a flame: PA12 and resin can warp or burn near heat. An LED tealight, which barely warms up, gives the same play of shadows through a pierced pattern.

How do you clean 3D printed decor?

By hand: a damp cloth or soapy water, without soaking. Raw PA12 is slightly porous; the vapour-smoothed finish seals the pores and cleans more easily. The dishwasher isn't recommended, as heat can warp the part. Avoid solvents on resin, and dust pierced patterns with a soft brush.
