How much does a 3D printed desk stand cost?
A one-part stand costs 950 credits to design, then the print is paid in US dollars, at the firm price shown before you order: a delivered order always includes a manufacturing minimum, delivery and the service (today, a delivered order starts at $23.90). A set of 2–4 parts costs 1,900 credits to design.
Design
In credits, once per generation; chat messages and edits are charged separately, while sliders, quotes and renders cost no credits.

Delivered order · from
The minimum delivered price of an order today, at the cheapest printer available: an order always includes a manufacturing minimum, delivery and the service.
Order limits
Up to 100 copies per online order, $2,278 incl. VAT at most; above that, a custom quote.
What brings the price down
- thin the non-structural walls
- switch to printed PETG (redo the safety calculation)
- hollow it (2–3 mm shell + ribs, two Ø 3.5 mm powder escape holes)
A cable tray as wide as the desk is split into modules, each within the material's maximum size, and the price follows mainly the volume of material: thin walls and an open base cost less than a solid tray.
How do you get a stand made to fit your gear?
- Measure your gearWith a ruler or callipers: the inside width of the headband, the thickness of the controller, the thickness of the closed laptop, the width of the phone in its case.
- Measure your deskDesktop thickness, free overhang, the diameter of an existing hole, space under the desktop: these decide how it fixes.
- Describe the use and the styleIn Design mode: freestanding, clamped or magnetic, the colour of each part and the finish, and what has to pass behind (charging cable, airflow).
- Check the 3D previewThe AI designs the stand in parametric CAD, checks the thicknesses and shows the preview. Adjust a dimension with the sliders, for free.
- Choose the material and orderPA12 for the body, TPE for the pads: the firm price, VAT and delivery included, is shown before you pay.
What the AI will ask you
- Give the dimensions of the device to hold: headband, controller, laptop or phone in its case.
- Say how thick the desktop is and how it should fix: freestanding, clamped or magnetic.
- For cables, count them, give their diameter and the size of the power strip.
- Pick a delivered print budget range, or “No limit”.
- Say which colour and finish: matt black, grey, white.
How do you hide desk cables with 3D printed parts?
With a tray under the desktop for the power strip and spare cable length, edge clips to guide each cable and a grommet sized to the existing hole. Give the width of the desk, the thickness of the desktop and the list of cables: the AI designs the parts to those dimensions.
- Cable tray: in modules that clip together and clamp under the desktop, open at the top so you can add a cable.
- Magnetic cable holder: on a steel desk frame, magnets bought ready to use press by hand into their printed pockets, no glue; it's the exception, listed with an Amazon link.
- Power strip holder: a cradle sized to it; the power strip stays an off-the-shelf product.
- Edge clips: clamped onto the desktop, no drilling, one per cable or per group.
- Grommet: sized to the hole, with a slotted lid.
- Cable ties: printed, reusable straps at the length you need.

What measurements should you give for a headphone or controller stand?
The device's dimensions where it touches the stand, plus those of the spot where the stand fixes. The table sums up what to measure:
| Device | What to measure | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Headphones | Inside width of the headband, thickness of its cushion | A wide band needs a wide support, or it leaves a mark |
| Controller | Length, width, thickness at the grips | Say where the triggers and the cable stick out |
| Phone | Width and thickness in its case, position of the port | Measure with the case you'll keep |
| Laptop | Thickness when closed, width, position of ports and vents | Keep the vents clear |
| Microphone | Body diameter, type of stand fitting | Give your mouth height when seated |
| Desk | Desktop thickness, free overhang, diameter of a hole | Measure under the desktop, braces included |
Which material should you choose for a desk stand?
- PA12 (MJF): the default choice for a desk stand: an even grey or black, precise for a clamp that has to grip the desktop snugly.
- Printed PETG (FDM): the “Economy” option for a cable tray or an organiser that's out of sight, in many colours; the layers stay visible.
- Flexible TPE: non-slip pads and inserts that don't scratch the desk, the laptop or the headband.
| Material | Min. wall | Min. detail | Min. clearance | Max. size (mm) | Properties | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PA12 natural grey (MJF) | 0.5 mm | 0.2 mm | 0.6 mm | 380 × 380 × 284 | rigid · outdoor | $ |
| PA12 matte black (MJF) | 0.5 mm | 0.2 mm | 0.6 mm | 360 × 210 × 210 | rigid · outdoor | $ |
| PA12 black vapour smoothed (MJF) | 1.5 mm | 0.5 mm | 0.7 mm | 360 × 210 × 210 | rigid · outdoor | $$ |
| Flexible TPE (SLS, Shore ≈ 88A) | 0.8 mm | 0.8 mm | 2 mm | 220 × 190 × 190 | flexible · outdoor | $$$ |
| PETG (FDM) | 0.5 mm | 0.5 mm | 0.5 mm | 300 × 300 × 300 | rigid · outdoor | $ |

What won't objekto do for your desk?
- No monitor arms or hanging monitor mounts: no printed stand has a certified load rating.
- No heavy shelves or wall brackets carrying a significant load.
- No mains electrical housings: no power strips, socket boxes or power supply cases.
- No electronics supplied: a stand lets the charging cable through, it doesn't charge.
- No copies of a branded accessory, and no console or games maker's logo on the stand.
- A part resting against a heat source (the back of a computer, a power brick) can warp: leave a gap.

A shop-bought stand, a file to print or objekto: which should you choose?
A shop-bought desk accessory is often enough; made to measure helps when your gear, your desk or your setup falls outside standard sizes.
| objekto | Shop-bought stand | Free file to print yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dimensions | Those of your gear and your desk | A standard size | The file's, to adapt in software |
| Look | Colour and finish of your choice, TPE pads | The model's | Your printer's |
| Manufacturing | Printed in a workshop and delivered | Delivered | Print it yourself or have it printed |
| Best for | Non-standard gear or desk, a consistent setup | A common device | A simple accessory if you own a printer |

Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom 3D printed headphone stand cost?
Expect 950 credits to design a one-part stand, then the print price in US dollars, shown before you order, VAT and delivery included. A delivered order always includes a manufacturing minimum, delivery and the service; beyond that, a hollow or open stand costs less than a solid one, and a massive base adds material.
Can I get a custom controller stand made for my console?
Yes: give the controller's dimensions at the grips, how many controllers and where it goes (on the desk, on the wall, under the desktop). objekto designs a stand shaped to them, with a channel for the charging cable if you like. The console maker's logo isn't reproduced on the stand.
Can I get a custom laptop stand made?
Yes, a freestanding one: a vertical stand at the exact thickness of your closed laptop, or blocks that raise the back to tilt the keyboard. Give the width, the thickness and where the vents are, as they must stay clear. TPE inserts stop the casing getting scratched. An articulated or hanging arm, however, is refused.
How do I tidy cables under a desk without drilling?
With parts that clamp onto the desktop: a modular tray that hooks over the edge, clips for each cable, a cradle for the power strip. Give the desktop thickness and the space under the desk. If the desktop has braces underneath, measure them too: a clamp has to fit beside them.
Can a 3D printed stand hold a monitor?
No, not raised up or cantilevered: objekto designs neither monitor arms nor hanging mounts, because no printed part has a certified load rating. For a monitor, use a stand, an arm or a riser from a shop, made for its weight. Printed stands are for headphones, controllers, phones and laptops.
Which material won't scratch the desk?
A PA12 body, rigid and even, with flexible TPE pads or inserts wherever the stand touches the desk, the laptop or the headband. TPE grips and doesn't leave marks. Printed PETG is the “Economy” option, with visible layers. Compare them all in the materials table.
