objekto vs Craftcloud: which should you use?

Updated 5 November 2026 · 3 min read

In short

Craftcloud is a price-comparison marketplace: you upload a 3D file, it asks a large network of workshops and shows their prices and lead times side by side. objekto doesn't need a file: it designs the object from your description, then has it made by a partner workshop. Craftcloud is the right choice to get an existing file made at the best price; objekto, when the file doesn't exist yet.

  • Craftcloud (All3DP, Munich) aggregates many workshops: FDM, SLA, SLS, MJF, metal, CNC.
  • Prices shown per workshop, with shipping to many countries.
  • You need a 3D file; an order split across workshops can arrive in several parcels.
  • objekto handles design, checks and the assembly guide, in a single order.
  • Parts ordered on objekto are currently made through Craftcloud (among other partner workshops).

What Craftcloud does

Craftcloud is the price-comparison service of All3DP, a German 3D-printing publication. You upload a file (STL, 3MF, OBJ, STEP…), pick a material, and Craftcloud shows offers from many partner workshops around the world, with production and delivery times. It covers fused filament (FDM), resin, nylon sintering, printed metal and machining, and says it adds no markup to the workshops' prices.

For an assembly you can ask for a single-workshop offer; otherwise, parts sent to different workshops arrive separately.

What objekto does

objekto starts from a description, a photo or a sketch: its AI designs the object as parametric CAD, part by part, checks it's print-ready, provides an exploded view and an assembly guide, then has it made by an industrial 3D-printing workshop and delivered in France. A simple part costs 950 credits to design, and new accounts get 2,000 credits free at signup.

When to pick Craftcloud

  • You already have a ready file and want the best price or the fastest turnaround.
  • You need a specific process: printed metal (steel, aluminium, titanium), machining, large-format FDM.
  • You're shipping outside France.

When to pick objekto

  • You don't have a 3D file, or your file needs changing.
  • You want a complete object designed for its use, with clearances and an assembly guide.
  • You'd rather deal with one service and see the delivered price up front.

Frequently asked questions

Does Craftcloud design objects?

No: Craftcloud compares manufacturing offers for a file you provide. The design has to be done beforehand.

Can I compare prices for an objekto design on Craftcloud?

Yes: on paid plans the STL, 3MF and STEP files can be downloaded and uploaded to any service.

Which is cheaper?

For an existing file, a price-comparison service will often find a lower print price. objekto also charges for design, in credits, and a service margin on printing; in return, it produces the file and checks it.
